The Nature's Co. Tangerine Body Lotion - Summer in a bottle

If you ask me which aromas I like the most in my skincare products, the answer would be orange and lemon. So naturally, when I got this Tangerine flavoured body lotion I fell in love with it at once. It's like enjoying the summer treat in a bottle.

About the product:

Price: INR495 for 250ml
The product comes in a sturdy looking square shaped plastic bottle with a orange coloured flip cap. The consistency of the lotion is not too thick not too runny. It has a very nice aroma of tangerine/orange and gets absorbed very quickly. It is not greasy, hence it is perfect to use in the summer.
The best part about this lotion is its smell. Sometimes I open the cap just to smell the product for a while. It's incredibly sweet, yummy and refreshing. :P

Pros:
1. Its all natural, herbal and mild.
2. Has a sweet and refreshing smell of tangerine.
3. It is not too heavy. Spreads easily and gets absorbed in a jiffy.
4. Keeps skin hydrated and moisturised for hours.
5. Regular usage helps in removing mild tan. Tried and tested.
6. Makes skin soft, smooth and even.
7. Very little quantity is sufficient for the whole body, hence one bottle would last you for months.

Cons:
1. It has no SPF!
2. Nature's co products are available only at TNC shops and on TNC website. I have never seen them on any other online beauty sites.
3. The price is a bit high for a body lotion.

Rating: 4/5
Recommendation: If you would love to have sweet refreshing smell of tangerine all over your body, then you must give it a try. This is a perfect body lotion for summer.

My spring summer haul! :D

Summer is getting on our nerves and there's only one solution to beat the heat. Retail therapy. :D So I went shopping in this scorching heat and got some nice stuff to cool myself down. I know people usually don't pay much attention to the writer's babbling in a haul post. Hence I am shutting myself up and let the pics do all the talking. Enjoy!

A purple summer dress. It was a love at first sight.

Vero Moda top. The icy blue color is very soothing. Also love the lace detailing and the frills.

Another summer dress/tunic. The print reminds me of a famous Tagore song, 'Orey bhai phagun legeche boney boney' (The spring has come all across the forests) Er..pardon my pathetic attempt to translate the song. :(

Cropped trousers from Promod. These are super comfy and fit like a dream. :) I couldn't take a proper pic of them. But you can check them out here.

A faux leather frilly red bag.

Some fun nail paints. Love them!

The best part. Jeweleries. :P

The vintage watch.

I knew it was going into my collection at the very first moment I saw this. Love love love the pendant!! It has got all my favourite colours in it.

So that was my spring summer haul. You can call it only the first part, as I have plans do some more shopping in the next two weeks. So stay tuned! :)

Lumiere Cosmetics Eye Pigments - Peacock, Mysterious

Mineral cosmetics are some sort of a craze these days. People say that they are more skin as well as environment friendly. Honestly, I don't have much knowledge about it as I hardly own or use any mineral makeup. You can read this article if you want to know about their pros and cons. I find this article lucid yet informative.
Today I am reviewing Lumiere Cosmetics mineral eyeshadow pigments in Peacock and Mysterious.

About the eye pigments:
Lumiere eye pigments come in a wonderful variety of shades and textures to complement any eye color and/or preference.
Wear each shade alone or mix and match to create a custom color. They can be applied dry for a subtle look or wet/foiled
to make a more dramatic appearance - this will also give you longer wear. Can be worn with or without an eye primer.

Price: 2g $8 and 1g $5

These are loose eye pigments that come in small transparent cubic jars. The packaging is really nice and those small cubes are quite sturdy. The shade names are written underneath the jars.

Both the shades are highly pigmented and show up quite well even without any primer or base. Staying power varies from 3 to 6hrs depending on the other conditions. Never creased on my eyelid.

Peacock is a deep teal blue with golden shimmer. Mysterious is true to its name. Its a combination of brown, grey, purple with a hint of green shimmer. Gorgeous shade!

Given the quantity I think the prices are quite reasonable. One small cube is gonna last you like forever. So $5 for a 1g jar is not a bad deal.

Pros:
1. Highly pigmented.
2. Long stay.
3. Does not crease.
4. Mineral cosmetics are good for skin.
5. Economical.
6. Lots of different shades are available. The shades are even cataloged on the site according to their color families. You can check them out here.
7. Packaging is sturdy as well as attractive.

Cons:
1. Applying loose pigments is so painful except for the pros.
2. Not available in India. You would have to buy through online.
3. Most of the shades are shimmery, hence not suitable for day or formal look.

Check out the whole range of Lumiere cosmetics here.

Rating: 3/5

Recommendation: If you love mineral makeup and also love shimmery vibrant eye colors, this would be just perfect for you.

Vedic Line Papaya Scrub

If you ever ask me what my most favourite skincare product is, the answer would be scrub. I don’t know why but I am sort of addicted to all kind of scrubs, facial as well body, even the foot scrub. :P I love trying (or hoarding) different scrubs and today I am going to review one the member of my scrub family – Vedic Line papaya scrub.

About the product:

Price: INR175

It comes in a big plastic tub which is both unhygienic as well as inconvenient. The scrub is cream based and quite thick in consistency; although I prefer gel based scrub more, especially during summer. The scrubbing granules are pretty big in size but not coarse at all. It has a sweet fruity smell that I liked. :P

Although it is just a scrub, it can be used as a pack as well. Being a lazy person I find it very convenient. I apply a thick layer of scrub all over my face and leave it for 10minutes. Then I massage my face gently for a while and wash it off.
It gives my face an instant glow and also moisturises a bit. My t-zone is a bit uneven due to whiteheads; it visibly smoothens after every wash. The effect stays only for 2days at most though.

Pros:
1.       Brightens up the face by removing dirt and dead cells.
2.       Works as scrub-pack.
3.       It is not too harsh, hence good for sensitive skin also.
4.       Only a small quantity is required for the whole face.
5.       Economical.
6.       It claims to remove blemishes. I cannot vouch for that though.

Cons:
1.       Does not work on blackheads.
2.       Packaging is inconvenient.
Rating: 4/5

Recommendation: It’s a good product and you can give it a try.
